Yet somewhat of a late post but well deserved, one of my favorite clients was kind enough to refer me and I am always happy when the images I captured get a great response like this. I pride myself with an eye for creative photography that I can apply to sessions that normally would be boring and plain. Cause let's be honest... anyone can take a boring picture although I understand the reasoning behind some being that way. It is hard enough to stand out from a million other photo pros. As much as goes into the preparation and the planning of a session, from selecting the right outfits to hair and make-up as well as props, the background location always plays a big role as well. I love the scouting part but when my client already has a location in mind I am all up for that. Laura is a Realtor here in Las Vegas, NV and the location of the session was at MacDonald Ranch, it is one of the most luxury gated communities in Las Vegas. She wanted to get updated editorial style photographs and I think the results are exactly that. A different look of a realtor business profile!
The views from here over the Las Vegas valley are amazing! The dress Laura is wearing in the images above does have an interesting pattern that doesn't draw away or distract to much from Laura herself. The choice of this dress was great for this editorial style business look. However, I suggest to stay away from busier patterns like this image below. The image of Laura in this dress is more of a personal portrait and not good to use for a business profile. It does not portrait the message. Although this photograph of her is amazing.
The same goes for the image below, the pattern of the dress is distracting and not professional enough to portrait her position. This picture is almost green screen like and looks like a mad composition but only the lighting and lens blur is slightly adjusted, I got very lucky capturing this image. The view of the Las Vegas Valley in the background is amazing up here from MacDonald Ranch in Henderson, NV. I hope she would use this picture in her home.
Please make sure to collaborate with your photographer on the look you want to portrait and what the choices of the outfits will be. I think that is important and should be discussed in a consultation or meeting. If you are uncertain, don't hesitate to hire a professional stylist. You are investing in yourself with a photo session like this.
